Damage Protection
If our equipment gets hurt on your rental, the repair bill lands on you. Damage Protection puts a hard ceiling on that number. Three plans, priced as a share of your rental, picked at checkout.
What this is, and what it is not
What it is
A cap. Your rental agreement makes you responsible for damage to the unit, with no ceiling: parts, shop labor, and up to 30 days of downtime at the daily rate. A plan replaces "no ceiling" with a number you knew before you launched.
A smaller deposit hold. Standard and Total cut the card hold at pickup.
A written process. Inspection at return, findings on paper, and for engine questions a borescope camera with photos you can request.
What it is not
Not insurance. There is no insurance company involved and nothing here is regulated as insurance. We say this everywhere, on purpose.
Not a license to be careless. Every plan runs on the same short list of excluded causes, and an excluded cause has no cap: alcohol, unapproved drivers, closed areas, hits to the hull, unreported damage.
Not protection for other people or their property. Anything involving another person, another boat, or a dock is between you and them, and worth a call to your own insurance agent before a big water day.
The three plans, by equipment
Same three plans on everything we rent. What changes by equipment is the cap and the covered list, so pick your machine and read its column. One plan applies to your whole booking.

Talk like a boat mechanic in five minutes
The words on the counter card and in the terms, defined the way we actually use them. Read this once and nothing in a damage conversation will surprise you.
- the ceilingCap
- The most you can owe us for covered damage on that unit, for that rental, added up across everything that happened. A cap of $500 on the ski means a $1,900 covered repair costs you $500 and we eat the rest. Two things to hold onto: the cap counts everything in total, not per scratch, and it only applies to covered damage. An excluded cause has no cap at all.
- the card holdDeposit hold
- A hold on your card at pickup, released the same day the unit comes back clean. It is not a payment. If there is damage, the hold applies first toward what you owe; if you owe more than the hold, you still owe the difference. Standard and Total shrink the hold. Basic does not.
- downtime moneyLoss-of-use
- What a damaged unit costs us while it sits in the shop instead of renting: up to 30 days at the daily rate under the rental agreement. Every plan waives loss-of-use on covered damage. If you decline protection, loss-of-use is on top of the repair bill.
- the sand eaterWear ring
- A plastic ring inside the jet ski pump that the impeller spins in. Run shallow water and it swallows sand, the ring scars, and the ski revs high but barely moves. It is the most common repair on our skis. On Standard and Total we replace one wear ring per rental, parts and labor, at no charge. On Basic, or with no plan, the repair is yours.
- the sanded bottomHull abrasion
- The bottom of a ski scuffed dull from beaching or running skinny water. It is rubbing damage, not a hit. Standard and Total treat ski hull abrasion as covered. A cracked hull, or a hull that hit a rock, is a different thing entirely, and no plan touches it.
- water in the engineWater ingestion
- Water where fuel and air should be. An engine that swallows water can hydrolock, and the repair is measured in thousands. It is the single most expensive common loss on the water. No plan covers it, on any unit, at any tier. If the engine takes on water, the repair is yours.
- the worst dayCatastrophic loss
- The unit destroyed, burned, or sunk. This is what the big-unit plans are actually for: the wakeboat is worth more than $180,000, and without a plan a destroyed boat is your bill. Basic and Standard cap a covered catastrophe at $5,000 on the wakeboat and the UTV; Total caps it at $2,500 and is the only plan that covers a UTV rollover.
- the no listExcluded cause
- A way damage can happen that no plan pays for, ever: an operator we did not approve, alcohol, closed areas, hull damage from hitting something, damage you did not report before returning. Excluded causes have no cap. The full list is short, it is in plain sight below and in the terms, and every item on it is something you control.
If something happens: how a claim works
- Tell us before you leave the lot. Every plan requires you to report damage at return, before you drive off. Not reporting it voids the plan, and that is the one mistake we cannot fix for you.
- We inspect. A first look when you hand the unit back, and a closer look within three business days if it needs one.
- If the engine may have taken on water, we look inside it. A borescope camera goes through the cylinders and we photograph what we find, at the time we find it. Ask and we send you the images.
- You get it in writing. What we found, whether your plan covers it, and the amount. With a plan, a covered amount stops at your cap.
What no plan covers
Short list, no surprises. These apply to every plan on every unit. If damage comes from one of these, the cap does not apply and the cost is yours in full.
- Collision, impact, grounding or striking a submerged object, and any hull damage arising from it
- Anyone operating who is not named on the rental agreement
- Alcohol, marijuana or any impairing substance
- Intentional or reckless damage, or continuing to operate after a warning light, noise or impact
- Closed, posted, restricted or off-limits areas, no-wake and posted-speed violations
- Operating outside Arizona without written permission
- Saltwater
- Theft while left unsecured or unattended
- The trailer, and any damage arising from towing, hitching, loading, launching or retrieving
- Fuel, the refueling fee, wrong-octane damage, and any incorrect fluid
- Late return fees, cleaning charges, lost or damaged accessories and gear
- Failing to report damage before returning the equipment
- Injury to any person, or damage to property belonging to anyone other than Company
