Wave and Ridge Jet Ski, Boat, and UTV Rentals rents two trailers from our shop at 724 E Scenic St in Apache Junction: a custom 30-foot tandem side-by-side trailer and a 20-foot Big Tex utility trailer. Both ride on dual 3,500 lb tandem axles for a 7,000 lb rating, both have a reinforced gate ramp, and both leave our lot strapped down with the tie-downs and safety chains included. Pickup is at our shop, and we are open Monday through Saturday.

Which trailer do you need?

The 30-foot side-by-side trailer is built for two full-size, 4-seat UTVs. Pick it when:

  • Two machines are going to the same trail.
  • You want room for both UTVs plus a cooler and gear.
  • You are heading to a riding area farther than you want to drive a UTV on the road.

The 20-foot Big Tex utility trailer is the all-rounder. Pick it when:

  • You are hauling a single UTV plus gear.
  • You have mixed cargo, like equipment or furniture, across town.
  • You want a built-in toolbox and multiple D-rings for odd-shaped loads.

What your tow vehicle needs

  • A 2-inch ball and a Class I to III receiver hitch. Most tow-ready SUVs, trucks and minivans already have this.
  • A vehicle rated for the load. For one of our Can-Am X3 UTVs on a trailer, plan on a vehicle rated to tow at least 5,000 lbs. The X3 on its trailer weighs around 3,200 lbs.
  • A hitch, if you are missing one. If your vehicle has a receiver but no ball mount, we can rent you a hitch.
  • No tow vehicle at all? A truck-rental location sits a few minutes from our shop, and on 4-hour and 8-hour bookings we help cover part of a pickup-truck rental there. Ask when you book.

Do you need a trailer for a UTV day?

Usually not. Our Can-Am Maverick X3 is street-legal, so most riders pick up at the shop and drive it straight to Bulldog Canyon. Add a trailer when you want to ride a trail farther out, or for a multi-day trip. See UTV rentals and our Bulldog Canyon guide to plan the ride itself.

How pickup works

  1. Reserve the trailer on our booking page, on its own or with a UTV.
  2. Bring your tow vehicle to 724 E Scenic St, Apache Junction.
  3. We hook up, secure the load with you, and walk you through the ramp and tie-downs.
  4. Return the trailer to the shop at your scheduled time.

Utility Trailer FAQ

What size hitch do I need to tow a Wave & Ridge utility trailer?
A 2-inch ball with a standard Class I to III receiver hitch. That's the same rating that covers our jet-ski trailers, so most tow-ready vehicles are already set up for it. If you're not sure what your vehicle has, use the Call button before you book and we'll confirm.
What kind of tow vehicle do I need?
Most SUVs, trucks, and minivans with a Class I to III hitch can tow our utility trailers. Tell us what you drive when you book and we'll confirm it's a fit before you head out.
How much weight can the trailer carry?
Both trailers are rated for 7,000 lbs on dual 3,500 lb tandem axles. That's enough for two full-size 4-seat UTVs on the 30' trailer, or a single UTV plus gear on the 20' Big Tex.
How is my load secured for the drive?
Every trailer leaves our lot fully strapped down with the tie-downs and safety chains it needs, included at no extra charge. The 20' Big Tex also has multiple D-rings across the deck for extra anchor points on odd-shaped loads, and we secure the load with you before you leave so you see exactly how it's done.
How do I load my UTV onto the trailer?
Both trailers have a reinforced gate ramp built to handle the weight of a UTV or side-by-side. Back up, lower the ramp, and drive your machine straight on - our staff walks you through it at pickup.
I don't have a tow vehicle. What are my options?
A U-Haul less than 5 minutes from our shop rents pickup trucks for about $20 a day, and Wave & Ridge takes $20 off a 4-hour or 8-hour trailer rental to help cover it (this doesn't apply to 2-hour bookings, and mileage isn't covered). If your own vehicle has a hitch receiver but no ball mount, we also rent a hitch for $20.
Do you rent a 30-foot trailer in Apache Junction?
Yes. Our custom 30-foot tandem side-by-side trailer carries two full-size, 4-seat UTVs on a 7,000 lb rating.
Can I rent a trailer without renting a UTV?
Yes. Book the trailer on its own and tell us what you plan to haul.
