Bachelorette Party Ideas Near Scottsdale: 7 Outdoor Ideas East of Town
The best outdoor bachelorette party idea near Scottsdale is a private wakeboat day on Saguaro Lake, with the whole party of up to 16 on one boat and the tower speakers, tubes, and surf boards already on board. Wave and Ridge rents the boat from Apache Junction, east of Scottsdale, and one person in your group tows it about 30 to 35 minutes to the Saguaro ramp. The renter must be 25 or older, and the driver stays sober all day.
Scottsdale has the nights covered. These seven ideas fill the daylight hours with something the whole group will actually talk about at the wedding, and they all start from one pickup spot in Apache Junction.

1. The private surf-and-tube boat day
This is the one most bachelorette groups build the weekend around. Everyone rides together on a single boat, so nobody waits on shore or splits into cars. Surf boards, wakeboards, tubes, and tower speakers are included, and nobody needs wakesurfing experience to have a good time. Most groups spend the morning on surf sets while the water is flat, float in a cove at midday, and save the tube runs for the afternoon. The bachelorette party rentals page lays out the full day, and the wakeboat rentals page covers the boat itself.
2. Jet ski runs off the boat
Add jet skis and the group can trade off between the boat and the shoreline. Park the boat in a cove, then send two or three riders out at a time on a Sea-Doo Spark 3UP. Each ski carries two to three riders up to 495 pounds combined, the person renting must be 21 or older, and anyone driving must be 16 or older. Life jackets and a safety orientation come with every ski. How many skis are open depends on your date, so ask us when you book. Details are on the jet ski rentals page.
3. A sunrise surf set, then brunch back in town
Not every group wants a full day on the water. The shop opens at 7 AM, and an early start gets you onto the lake while it is at its calmest, which is when surf photos look best. Plan on arriving at the shop about an hour before your start time for hookup, life jackets, and the walkthrough. A shorter morning on the water leaves the afternoon free for the pool and a slow brunch back in Scottsdale.
4. A cove float with a playlist
Some bride tribes are not here to surf. That is fine. Anchor in a quiet cove, swim off the back, float, and let the tower speakers carry the playlist. Sashes, banners, and balloons are welcome as long as everything comes back off the boat with you. Skip the glitter and confetti, because the lake keeps whatever gets dropped.
5. A desert UTV ride in Bulldog Canyon
For a non-water idea, rent a Can-Am Maverick X3 and ride Bulldog Canyon. Each machine seats four with a full harness on every seat, and it comes with DOT helmets and goggles, the Bulldog Canyon permit, and iPad trail maps. The X3 is street-legal, so you drive it from the shop to the canyon in about five minutes. No trailer, no meeting point at a trailhead. The renter must be 25 or older, and everyone needs closed-toe shoes. Groups bigger than four need more than one machine, so ask us how many are open on your date. Start with the UTV rentals page and the Bulldog Canyon guide.
6. A paddleboard morning add-on
A stand-up paddleboard is an easy add-on for the friend who wants a quiet hour on the water while everyone else tubes. Each board comes with a paddle, a leash, and a life jacket. See paddleboard rentals.
7. Split the weekend: desert Friday, lake Saturday
The shop is closed on Sunday, so Saturday is the only weekend pickup day. Groups in town for a long weekend often ride Bulldog Canyon on Friday morning and take the boat out on Saturday. That keeps both days light enough that nobody is wrecked by dinner.
How the boat day runs
- Pickup in Apache Junction. The renter and the tow driver arrive about an hour before the start time. We hitch the boat to your vehicle, fit life jackets, and walk the driver through the boat.
- Tow to Saguaro Lake. It is about 30 to 35 minutes from the shop to the ramp. The rest of the party can drive straight to Saguaro and join you at the ramp.
- Morning on the water. Surf and wakeboard while the lake is calm.
- Midday in a cove. Anchor, swim, eat, and reset.
- Afternoon tubing. Afternoon chop makes the tube more fun, not less.
- Tow back and return. The boat goes out with a full tank and comes back full. Fuel is not included.
Wave and Ridge is pickup only. We do not deliver to the lake or meet you at the ramp. If you are unsure about towing, the towing info page walks through it, and a U-Haul location near the shop rents pickups if nobody in the group has a truck.
Who can rent, drive, and drink
- The wakeboat renter must be 25 or older. Put your most experienced driver at the wheel.
- The boat driver stays sober. Arizona OUI laws apply on the water.
- Cans and seltzers are fine for passengers 21 and older. No glass on board, which is also a Tonto National Forest rule at Saguaro.
- Every participant signs a liability waiver.
- Saguaro requires a Tonto Pass. Sort it out ahead of time with the Tonto Pass guide.
- One person books and signs for the boat. The group booking guide explains how that works.
Timing, weather, and which lake
On most weekends and holidays from April through October, Saguaro Lake reaches boating capacity early and boats get turned away. Plan to launch early. The Saguaro arrival guide has the details, and the Saguaro Lake boat rentals page covers the lake itself.
If storms are in the forecast for your day, contact us before launch and we will reschedule at no charge. Cancellation terms are shown at checkout.
Canyon Lake has been closed since September 8, 2026 for the dam safety drawdown, so every boat day runs on Saguaro Lake. The Canyon Lake closure update has the latest. Last checked: Sep 28, 2026.
